For decades, Mischa Maisky has been one of the most charismatic cellists on the international music scene. His playing combines passionate expressiveness, an unmistakable richness of sound, and a profound emotional connection to the works he interprets. Born in Riga and trained, among others, by cello legend Mstislav Rostropovich, Maisky has performed with the world’s leading orchestras and conductors. Two decades ago, Mischa Maisky fulfilled his dream of making music together with his children. What began as a family trio has since grown into an expanded ensemble: joined by Sascha on violin and Lily and Maxim on piano, the great cellist travels the world and brings this special musical partnership to the Berlin Philharmonie. Their family bond becomes a musical dialogue, shaped by familiarity, mutual trust, and a shared passion for the great works of the repertoire. The program features compositions by Brahms, Beethoven, and other masters of chamber music.
